A sneak peak at our Apple project tomorrow!

My son is about to be 2 years old on the 21st, and frankly, he has not even said much yet. We have mainly focused on reading books with lots of pictures and color recognition, wooden puzzles, and fun artwork.

Here is the first official project that we will attempt tomorrow. I will let you know how it goes!

The project come from one of my favorite sites for resources that are great for new tots, DLTK!

The Awesome Apple Paper Craft
Just cut and paste the apple craft together for a great simple tool for learning about the letter A, "apple" and the color red.

Materials:

  • a printer,

  • paper,

  • scissors,

  • glue,

  • something to color with.

Instructions:

  • Print out the template of choice.

  • Color pieces, as necessary.

  • Cut out the pieces. This step may require adult assistance.

  • Glue the face, stem, feet, arms and Awesome A onto the Body (the apple).

  • Talk about why apples are awesome... healthy, tasty, juicy and crunchy come to mind!

  • Set page margins to zero if you have trouble fitting the template on one page (FILE, PAGE SETUP or FILE, PRINTER SETUP in most browsers).
