First up, I am a mother of two beautiful children, an 8 year old daughter and a 23 month old son. I am married to a ruggedly handsome husband, and have an addiction to blogging and social networking. I have another blog called Free2bMommy that is my own outlet and guilty pleasure for all the honest and unfiltered thoughts and opinions I have on a daily basis. The good, bad, and the ugly. I share it all.
I consider myself to be a true rookie at homeschooling, but I also feel that is all the more reason that I should be sharing the information that I find along the way, with others who are new in this homeschool endeavor. I do not claim to be a pro, which is why many of the resources we provide are just that, resources from other awesome sites and blogs that I felt were awesome and wanted to share. I asked a fellow blogger (Crystal) who was also embarking on homeschooling for her first year, to join me on Homeschool Hotties, and she so graciously agreed. So Homeschool Hotties was born.
Why "Homeschool Hottie Mommies?" Well frankly, the name is just out of fun and celebration of the many moms out there who are even more beautiful and "hotties" for unselfishly giving their children everything that they can in order to create a positive learning environment for them to grow and thrive in.
What I have learned while spending the last year researching homeschooling, is that homeschool moms, are all so incredibly different and unique in their methods and reasons for homeschooling. At the same time, we share a commonality in our search for the best resources, opinions, advise, and information we can find to help guide our families through the homeschool years.
So, my hopes are that whether you are a rookie homeschooler, or an old pro, you are able to find something on this site that you can relate to, and ultimately take back home...to your classroom.
Sincerely,
Dee
My name is Crystal. I am a mother of 1 and 2 year old and also have a 10 yr old step son. Education was never made important in my family so with my kids I make sure it comes first. I have another site called Jus Keep Smiling were I also share activities and projects but it is in no way just a homeschool site.
When asked if I would like to be a writer on this site I was thrilled. Most people don't understand when I say I am going to homeschool and I get even more looks when I say I already homeschool my 2 year old. With this site I now get the opportunity to show why I choose to homeschool, while helping other parents who are considering the choice as well but aren't sure where to start.
Each week I will be posting fun projects and educational activities to do with your younger children ages 1-4.
I hope this site can help assist you in any questions you may have.
Thanks Crystal
